Ruth Aguilera, Institute of Labor and Industrial Relations, UIUC

Biography:
Ruth V. Aguilera is an assistant professor in the Department of Business Administration and the Institute of Labor and Industrial Relations at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She earned her Bachelors and Masters degrees in economics from the College of Economics and Business Administration at the University of Barcelona. She also pursued graduate study in business analysis at the Management School at Lancaster University, U.K., and completed her Ph.D. in sociology at Harvard University in December 1999, specializing in economic sociology and comparative methods. Prof. Aguilera has spent considerable time conducting research at the Wissenschaftszentrum Berlin Sozialforschung (WZB) in Berlin, the Universit Luigi Bocconi in Milan, the Juan March Institute in Madrid and, the Research Institute of Economy, Trade and Industry (RIETI-MITI) in Tokyo. She was a Beckman Fellow at the Center for Advanced Study, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (Spring 2002).
