The Global Demand for Biofuel, June 19-21 2008

Biofuels have been embraced globally as renewable sources for energy, but despite the enthusiasm there remain many questions and some concerns.

Participants will learn about bioenergy developments nationally and internationally, international agricultural crop production and second generation bi-products that can be used for biofuels, and the environmental, economic, and societal impacts of bioenergy.

This 2 1/2 day workshop for agriculture educators and social science and science teachers, will cover the latest science, include visits to biofuel labs and test-crop sites, and an opportunity develop lesson plans.

Credit: Participating teachers will receive CPDUs or CEUs. Graduate credit from the University of Illinois, College of ACES is available. Cost per credit is $320. Tuition waivers cannot be used.

Housing: Single room lodging will be provided at Hendrick House, a private dorm.
